The Fledglings Room - 3 months to 2 years

The ‘Fledglings’ baby and toddler room for children aged 3–24 months; is split into four areas providing a sleep area, messy play/eating area, sensory/baby area and toddler play area.

At this stage of a child’s development we concentrate on sensorial play, where children progress using their senses (Touch, taste, sight, smell and sound) through a range of experiences provided in line with the ‘Birth to 3 Matters Framework’ such as, music, nursery rhymes, messy play and a treasure basket full of natural objects for babies and young children to explore, as well as good variety of age appropriate toys to encourage hand-eye coordination.

Our designated sensory area provides a range of visual and audio experiences. Our Under Two’s Unit caters for a maximum of twelve children, with no more than three children per staff member.

You will be asked to provide: Nappies, creams and wipes, ready made-up bottles, changes of clothing, outdoor clothing. All items should be clearly named
